Like so many churches and parishes, we would not be able to run without our superb team of volunteers. From gardening, cleaning and kitchen assistants, to flower arrangers, tour guides and librarians, we have many opportunities to get involved. More information can be found on our volunteering page.
Volunteering your time and talents is a boost, to not only our community, but also to the individuals mental and physical health, connecting with others and giving something back. Whether you are a practising Catholic, or just love the space, all are welcome.
We currently need volunteers to join our team of Stewards. The stewards play an important role in welcoming parishioners and visitors to Mass at the weekends, as well as on feast days and other big occasions. These individuals are a friendly group who ensure everyone gets a warm welcome and that everyone is safe. Parking at the Cathedral is often a squeeze, particularly on Sundays and feast days. We regularly have issues with cars being blocked in for hours at a time. We are appealing for volunteer car park marshals who can monitor the car parks on a Sunday for each Mass. This would be a small team for each Mass to ensure there is no double parking, or blocking access routes.
