Britten Sinfonia presents “Bach’s Christmas Oratorio”
Experience the joy and splendour of the festive season with Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, performed by two of the UK’s leading ensembles — the acclaimed Polyphony choir and Britten Sinfonia, under the direction of Stephen Layton.
This performance features Parts I, II, III and VI of Bach’s magnificent work, charting the Nativity story from the Birth of Jesus and the Annunciation to the Shepherds, to the Adoration of the Christ Child by both shepherds and wise men.
A cast of exceptional young baroque specialists joins the ensemble, performing both as chorus and soloists in Bach’s radiant arias and duets.
